The distance from Porbandar to Dwarka is precisely 108km. Dwarka is a very renowned religious place. Therefore, an idea of organizing a Padyatra(route march) took birth for seeking God’s blessings in achieving individual and collective goals. It was decided that every day the Praharis who included 8th std students of Prahar Military School, instructors of Prahar and management staff of Prahar would walk 20-25km and cover the distance in 5 days.
The aim of this route march was to inculcate a sense of physical fitness, mental toughness, adjustment and the techniques of living off the land amongst the Praharis. This Padyatra is conducted every year by Prahar- Samaj Jagruti Sanstha.
